"Waterdance is one of those albums that come along once in
a lifetime.
There are not enough positive words to describe it and nothing negative,
that can be said.
It's EXCELLENT!"
--Patrick Servanton, France.
"A soulful blend of blues, country
and great songwriting."
--John Nelissen, President of the Dutch Country DJ Association

Suspect Angel
During a time in my life when I was feeling very alone and not
very positive about my marriage or my career, a friend, whom I barely
knew, appeared with a kind word and some desperately needed encouragemnt.
It had a tremendous impact on me at the time and I was inspired
to begin writing Suspect Angel. I didn't finish this song until
three years later when another friend, who had an enormous impact
on my life and future, inspired its completion.
This song is also dedicated to a very, very special woman who practically
raised me and was with my family for twenty years. She truly was
an earth angel in spirit, deed and example. |

Somewhere In Time
Every year in the fall, I try to take a trailride with my horses
in the Great Smokey Mountain National Park. I consider it a spiritual
sabbatical, a time to reflect on my life, and very often it has
been a time to evaluate my hopes and dreams and the way I have endeavored
to bring them to fruition. Quite often, through the years, I found
myself happily there alone and always fantasized that someday I
would meet the man of my dreams on a remote mountain trail, who
would instantly recognize me for his long lost love from another
time and place.
This song evolved over two years of trail rides and in the original
ending, I never was found by this mysterious lover, however, I became convinced that perhaps the ending could take a turn for
the better. When we began working
on the album, it occurred to me that this song, with yet a few more
edits, would make a smashing duet...enter Jim Peterick (Survivor)
and hopefully the rest will make history. |

I'm Already Gone
Sometimes art precedes life. Some say we create our own reality.
I'm still searching for the truth about these speculations, but
this song could make a convincing argument for the latter. I penned
this song with the help of a mega talented man named Johnny Neal,
a true soul survivor. |

Posse's (Paying off the
Sheriff)
This is a true story (as true as I dare tell), about growing up
in East Tennessee. Everytime I go home now, I get more material
for the song from folks who knew this colorful character and who
spent a lot of great times in his "joint". |

Time Will Tell
Most of this song was written while riding on the back of a Harley
Davidson down the Natchez Trace Parkway between Nashville, Tennessee
and Tupelo, Mississippi. It was a time when I dared myself to dream
the impossible dream; and it came true! |

Some Kinda Spark
I know that I'm not the only person who has noticed that trying
to sneak a peak at someone in another car is almost always met with
discovery no matter how subtle one tries to be. I thought this phenomenon
deserved some recognition. |

Samantha (Don't Make
Me Beg)
Once a upon a time in the back of the Nashville Scene (a local
Nashville, Tennessee publication), I read a simple plea from some
heartbroken fellow...it said (you guessed it), "Samantha don't
make me beg"; that was it, simple and in bold letters. I thought
"what a title", then I thought, "I'm female, how
am I going to write this one?" So I put the idea away on the
back burner for a few years but kept kicking it around and then
as it usually happens, once again, life, in black and white reality,
showed me the way. |

Long Distance Heartache
I could write an entire novel on this subject...a mini-series...a
full-length motion picture! I settled for a song. |
